What information we collect

Information you give us. If you complete one of the enquiry forms on this website we collect the name, email address and message you provide. If you email or telephone us we keep the correspondence and the contact details it contains.

Information collected automatically. Our web host records standard technical information each time a page is requested, including your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser type. These server logs are used to keep the site running securely and are not used to identify individual visitors.

We do not use analytics software, advertising pixels or visitor-tracking tools of any kind on this website.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use enquiry details to reply to you and, where it leads to work, to provide our services. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services, and, once we are engaged, the performance of a contract with you or your organisation.

We use server logs for the security and proper operation of the site, which is also our legitimate interest.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling. We will not add you to a marketing list on the strength of an enquiry.

Where it is stored and for how long

Enquiries submitted through the form are emailed to us and are also saved in the website’s own database, where they remain until deleted. Email correspondence is held in our business email system.

We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for 24 months and then delete them. Where an enquiry becomes a project, the records are kept for as long as we need them for that project and for the period afterwards required by our professional and insurance obligations.

Who else is involved

We share personal information only with organisations that provide services to us, and only so far as they need it:

• Creative Marketing Services, who host, build and support this website and its database;
• our email provider, which carries messages sent from the website form and our own correspondence;
• our IT support suppliers, when they need access to our systems to maintain them.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some parts of our pages are loaded from other companies’ servers: web fonts from Google Fonts, and icons and scripts from jsDelivr and Font Awesome. When your browser fetches those files it reveals your IP address to the company concerned, under that company’s own privacy terms. We do not control and do not receive that information.

Cookies

This website does not set analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress, the software the site runs on, may set a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function, and sets cookies for logged-in administrators of the site. No consent banner is shown because no optional cookies are used.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to ask us to restrict how we use it, to object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interests, and in some circumstances to receive it in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the top of this page. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
